Baseball was the first sport I truly loved. I was even lucky enough to spend four summers in high school as a bat boy for the SF Giants, where I was once mistaken for Giants legend Kirk Rueter (deep cut, I know). That’s why I’m personally so excited to announce our new partnership with MLB and MLB.TV.
Starting today, MLB.TV subscribers can link their accounts on Playback and watch live games in rooms hosted by creators and communities. It’s the same approach we’ve taken with the NBA, where the results speak for themselves: the average connected League Pass user on Playback watches 7.5 hours of games each week, and over half of those connected subscribers are brand-new to the service.
When fans can stream games alongside creators they love—whether it’s a team-based podcaster or a gaming live streamer—they watch more often, stay longer, and get more value from their subscriptions. We’ve also seen strong international traction: 55% of our users are outside the U.S., making this partnership with MLB a great way to engage a global fan base eager for a more personalized and interactive viewing experiences.
If you’re a baseball creator, you can host your own watch party on Playback, bringing your audience together in real time to share analysis, hot takes, or just have fun.
